Friday, 31 July 2009.

If I've let anyone down lately, I'm truly sorry. Loyalty is a hard thing to keep straight, and conflicts inevitably arise out of the simplest things. The more concessions one makes, the more tangled things get...If I've lied to you, disappointed you, hurt you, done anything...I don't know how to apologise, but I just want you to know-whoever you are, so long as this applies- that I never wanted to let you down.

And now for a brighter note.

Vivi's got the stuff I sent her, although I've heard the jelly doughnut I got Shasha to send her is mashed into a rather reproachable and inedible state. Oh well. She's got the manga, too, and she's sounding well; also, I don't think I've caught the flu from her, which is always a good thing.

Track went quite decently, although the coach wasn't there. I did have some trouble deciding whether to run with the 'slack' or the 'chiong' group for stepdown training. I settled for a spot somewhat in-between (or rather, slacking off or speeding up for no good reason), although I think I managed to pwn an amount of people for 100m.

And aaargh I really hate bitch-laughs- you know, those high-pitched fake sarcastic laughs. Bitchy ones. Are they suddenly in fashion or something?!
(Ri-chan I'm glaring at YOU. >>)

xDD

Handed in some homework today. Got some homework back today too. I think I'm really starting to lack sleep; my Chinese homework was literally fail and my English summary wasn't far behind. I wish we'd done essay today instead of just having break because the teacher skipped out on us. (Not really, she's officially out on leave or something, but dunno why they didn't send a relief teacher.)

Also my Matrices assignment was apparently so messy Mr Cheong has to give it back to me to do. Does he have any idea how stressful it was chionging the damn thing in the library with Henpai's fail fail graphing calculator and Vivian's help? (Yeah, my brain gives out at the darnedest times. Need more sleeeeeep. *zombies*)

I should probably grow a spine and start doing homework the way most people do it. Neatly, respectfully, tidily.

I don't know why I don't.

Or rather, I do; it's because I want to get it done quickly; it's because writing hurts my hand; it's because my hand can't keep up with my thoughts.

Duhh.

I bet everyone else feels the same way. It's just that they manage good handwriting despite it all.

Also, Henpai was very scornful about Vivi's illness symptoms. Apparently light-sensitivity is not a genuinely relevant symptom of anything.
I restrained myself from pointing out that light-sensitivity was a major symptom of my second concussion, and once looking out the window at an average day leaves your eyes smarting and dazzled and confused, it stops becoming a laughing matter.

Idiot.

Today we went to Orchard~~

There was no school, for some pretty pointless reason involving Dr Hang and Maisuke-senpai, and thus I spent today doing a small amount of math homework and a large amount of nothing in particular, the latter part of which was spent in Orchard.

Which started off at half-past-one when everyone else was waiting for me on the completely wrong side of the road. ^^;;;; then we got on a bus and went to Far East Plaza and then people ate at KFC- people being Ri-chan and Naomi and Awa and Shasha, and we did see Onion-san too- and then we played Truth or Dare again and then Naomi got on a bus to go back to school and take some lame survey and then the rest of us went to Haru Goth and looked at the awesome awesome stuff and didn't get anything. Shasha went to Haru and was staring at the clothes but the moment we turned up she suddenly decided she most emphatically hadn't been looking at anything.

Haru has a lot of sailor fuku.

Also the pwnsome boots are as pwnsome as ever, but unfortunately that doesn't mean I'm getting them.

Then Ri-chan and Shasha went to take their survey too, and Awa and I went to Kinokuniya and called Vivi and asked her what kind of manga she wanted. We ended up getting her Negima vol. 25. I got Hayate the Combat Butler 10. Then we went downstairs and bought food for Vivi and ourselves- donuts for me and Vivi and Ri-chan and Awa ended up having one of Vivi's because it was Chocolate and Vivi can't eat chocolate stuff...- and also expensive grape jelly for Vivi and a red bean daifuku which is like mochi.

Then we met Ri-chan and then we went upstairs again and I got Loveless vol. 4 and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei vol. 1. Loveless was in Japanese and SZS in Chinese. I wanted to get Loveless in Chinese, but somehow it turned out that the Chinese version had 'NOT SUITABLE FOR THE YOUNG' on a yellow sticker on the cover, so I bought the Japanese which doesn't.

Kino is fail. ^^

So then Ri-chan wanted to get some sort of DIY multicolored pen from the stationary counter and then we ended up wandering through the design section and Shasha wanted to call Joey.

Awa: She's calling her husband!
Me: She's her boyfriend, her boyfriend.
Shasha: WE'RE NOT MARRIED!!
Awa: That's bad!! *disapproving look*
Me: *smothered laughter*
Shasha: *clueless* What's bad?
Awa: Premarital...*collapses with laughter*
Shasha: *mass murder*

(disclaimer: I am not suggesting Shasha is involved with Joey in any way and I am not libelling anybody and I am not labelling anybody either and PLEASE DON'T KILL ME SHASHA AAAARGH)

So yeah.

I figure I can ignore the English project for a little while longer, since I've got the whole 'read 3 books off the list' part done completely. Seeing as I've had the books since before the project started.

*radiates evil*

I am going to be very bored for the next week...VIVIAN WILL NOT BE COMING TO SCHOOL AT ALL. That's like, like, like, like....a death sentence or something!!! DDDDDX

I wonder if she was very bored back when I was in hospital.

Also, neither Awa nor Onion-san can comprehend the logic behind refrigerating manga. I is appalled.

....it also seems like the ranks of compulsive SMSers are greater than I thought. Relax, Ri-chan, turns out you aren't the only one.

Plus Awa has very strange taste.

Me: GOKUTSUNA FTW
Awa: TYL! GOKUTSUNA FTW
Me: Hah? ...Oh right, I forgot you liked older guys.
Awa: It's MENTAL age that matters! >>
Me: ...So you like mental aged guys.
Awa: *mass murders*

And thus is the story of how Awa likes mental old people. Old age homes and psychiatric hospitals around Singapore, beware~~

Speaking of which, we were talking about proms for some inexplicable reason- I blame Awa- and we ended up planning to get her a life-sized cardboard cutout of Ishida Ryuuken for her 16th birthday. Which is fine, but where the heck do you get life-sized cardboard cutouts of such a freaking unpopular minor character!?!?
(She wants to take it to the RGS prom.)

What the hell kind of idiot wants to go to prom with a lifesized cardboard cutout of a 40+-year-old guy?!

...I hope she grows out of it soon. >>

Tuesday, 28 July 2009.

And I'm going to Orchard with Awa and Ri-chan and Shasha tomorrow~~ I think~~~~We're meeting at the bus stop at 1:20 or 1:30 (they're pawning some kind of survey, sssshhhhhh)

Not Vivi though. She doesn't feel well.
TT____TT

{ 9:47 pm }

Aaaargh. Forgot to update for a while.

Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday!! xDDD *glomps*

And also, my party was pwnsome! As we decided, it falls into the list of the most pwnsome parties ever, just because it's MY party. Muahahaha~~ ^^ Ri-chan turned up, and Awa turned up, and Shasha and Joey turned up, and I don't think the two of them were dressed very decently, but what can I say? I got a Copic Marker and some books and this solar-powered lamp and Chocolate Raspberry Pocky and the most pwnage cards ever~~~

We played Truth or Dare a lot and cut the cake ourselves.

The cake was/is peanut-butter-chocolate-brownie. And delicious. I brought some of what was left over to school and it was eaten by

1. Me
2. Vivian
3. Russell
4. Ji Hyun
5. Ruth
6. Clarice
7. Kesh
8. Candice
9. Nikki
10. Rachelly
11. Claire
12. Xing Jing
13. Amanda

and maybe some other people, I can't really remember. xDD

Ji Hyun took the same bus as me this morning. She moved to Maplewoods pretty recently, I think...?

Too bad I'll be moving out in a couple of months. T___T

So yeah. Incidentally, I prefer taking 154 to 151, because for some reason walking 5 minutes is preferable to taking an overpass.

*lazy*

I got watercolours for my birthday and I've been painting a lot, but my mom won't let me bring the paints themselves to school. Also, I got the worst mark ever on my last English summary. DDDDX I blame it entirely on sleep-deprivation, but the fact is it's badbadbadbadbad because it's 15/25 and NOBODY does that badly, least of all me.

Also the failest thing happened on my birthday.

I realised it was my birthday the moment I got up, but....it took me until I was on the bus to realise that what that meant was that I was 14 years old.

^^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Naomi has decided that Yoru-senpai sounds like Ootori Kyouya and wishes for me to poke him once for her. *evil evil evil grin* (that wasn't confidential or anything, was it? DDX)

(p.s. I had green pancakes for breakfast on my birthday by special request!! XDDDD)

{ 9:26 pm }

Sunday, 26 July 2009.

I hate being useless.

Doesn't everyone?

I was going to write about how Claire is a much better person than I've given her credit for, but then again, Yoru-senpai is also a much better person than I've given him credit for. Even Vivian.

Actually, I haven't given anyone enough credit, which is especially ironic now that you look at the situation and I turn out to be the excess baggage that nobody really needs.

Vivi got rather pissed at me Thursday, but I don't mind, because the more she sticks up for herself the better. Around her, it's like I'm the kind of egotistic hyper freak that would walk all over the world without noticing that it didn't want to be a doormat. ^_____^;;;;;;;

Speaking of which, she can't come to my party. Why do all these people keep pulling out at the last minute?!?! Awa can come, Ri-chan can come, Shasha and Joey can probably make it too. On the other hand, Vivi and So Phia and Pinky-chan can't, for some unknown reasons (except that Pinky-chan has to go to her aunt's housewarming) and- get this- I FREAKING FORGOT TO INVITE NAOMI!!!!!!!

....now I really feel bad.

Plus, why do people like Twitter?
(I have to get my Chinese homework done before noon and I lost the newspaper I was supposed to get the info out of. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;)

Isn't it stupid how one can analyze manga plots hollow and figure out where everything really fits, how everyone really works, but in real life the grand scheme of things is always somewhere completely out-of-reach and it's only when you get a glimpse that you realise how wrong you've been about everything?

I'm mildly depressed now, which means I'm in a good mood for writing or drawing stuff (it's only when I'm disillusioned with my bouts of manic hyper egotism that I can actually recognise the flaws in my work and work on improving) but Chinese homework still has to be done first.

aaaargh.

If I've let anyone down, I'm sorry.

{ 10:43 am }

Wednesday, 22 July 2009.

Aaargh.

Where to start?

Yesterday there was a mass email to everyone, saying basically that the student council sucked, was way too big, and needed complete reshaping.

I don't have a problem with that, really; the sender (anonymous address!!) had a couple of good points, although he/she should have done something a bit more orthodox and less illegal. Seriously, I bet they'll get mega-owned for this. Maisuke says he hopes there's a public caning, but that's just him being bloodthirsty.

What the problem is is that that was followed up by pron emails. I dunno if it was the same person- probably someone else copying the original person, which is LAME, because things like that only work once before people just start getting pissed off. Like me. Some people were annoyed at me for saying I was scarred for life, and I'll admit that's what people usually say when they want to attract attention, but I dunno....is there some better way to say, this is disgusting, I feel traumatised, I wish I could use brain bleach or some convenient amnesia to wipe it out of my mind?

...I always thought pron had to be worth watching because so many people did, but apparently not. I'd have been better off not finding out.

I hope the pron guy gets owned.

So school email is down, school internet is down unless you're a teacher, everybody is apparently clamoring for extensions on projects....life is going on as usual.

Today at break I met up with Vivi and Russell and had Pocky and mango gummies. Mr Cheong confiscated my book and then gave it back. My whole class opted out of the meet-your-neighbours exercise. O___O

The penname of the person who sent the letter-something like 'Angel of Avenging'-sounded nice, so then I was thinking about it and drawing. I guess whoever it is certainly has dramatic sense. Like Mr Cheong was saying, they might even be in my class!! O____O

Anyway Yoru-senpai said that he recognised most of it as plagiarised from some storybook or other, which kinda sucks, because I thought the whole thing was really awesome to come up with, even if the method was a bit...ahem. But it's just some plagiarist or whatever.

zzzzz

Allergies killing me lately. DX
Must be the haze.
So now I can't sleep, I'm sneezing in class, and I don't even have a fever to get me excused.
*shot*

Anyway I was drawing this angel-person in Goth Loli-inspired clothes and a couple of the guys in my class said it looked nice, which is probably a first.

Then they asked me if I could draw hentai.

*headdesk*

I think, over the weekend, I'll start using the Code Geass temporary tattoos I bought from Cosfest. I'll start with Suzaku or something.

*falls asleep*

{ 3:37 pm }

Monday, 20 July 2009.

Today was....schoolish.

Oddly enough, although school's still a drag and it's troublesome getting all the damn homework done, school itself- classes themselves, even- no longer depress me. *insert evil grin here*

I saw Vivi today again. She was holding Mokonya the Mokona at one point and Kuma-chan the Kuma-chan at another point. Plus she got attacked by a junior. And ate a hot dog. And we talked, but I don't even remember what we talked about.

Aaaargh, Awa, why do you keep talking about suicide?! >>
You had better not go kill yourself and leave the rest of us all alone here.

I'm having a birthday party on Sunday!! But it's not so much a party as just an excuse to see all my primary school friends again. Sorry, school-people, but the last time I invited Claire and Leyi to my birthday party they both ended up ridiculously marginalised.

I want to go shopping with Vivi-chan soon. Not because I'm a shopping-obsessed freak like your average teenage girl stereotype, but because I want to go to Haru for goth lolita and Takashimaya for mochi and Kinokuniya for Japanese manga and it's fun to drag Vivi along for that sort of thing!! The last time we went, though, it was the time with the 'war relic' thing and my mom turned up at school and got kicked out by security guys and when I called her to pick me up from Orchard, she was REALLY mad at me. ^^;;;;;;

I bought Xing Jing from Track ice cream today because I promised I'd treat the whole relay team and I heard Cherie was already buying ice cream for Ji and Rachel and I couldn't find Samantha. So it was just her. We asked Claire to join us, but she had to leave. I like ice cream!! Also Xing Jing (I really hope that's the right way to spell her name, I've never seen it written) likes Ikimono Gakari too, which is awesome. If I ever recruit for the family, she'll be the first person I ask. She's already otaku enough and open-to-weird-stuff.

Claire performed her Talent Search finals act to her class while I was there, which is just as well because I had to be in Track during the actual competition. I had no idea the boys in her class were so helpful about that kind of thing. If it were my class, she'd be booed straight out on principle. But the song and all was awesome!! And I liked the video, with Rozen Maiden stuff- even though I don't watch the series, I absolutely worship Souseiseki. ^^
Although it took a long time to set up. And I was compulsively looking out the window for Horseface the whole time. ^____^;;;;;;
Her dress is nice. The underskirt is this really stiff-and-floppy tulle thing that looks like a droopy tutu and also looks pwnsome. The dress that goes on top was okay, and I bet that sort of thing looks better when one's wearing it. Anyway, she didn't get anything, which is too bad, but I bet she'll have tons more chances and if she sings something English or even Chinese next time instead, she'll probably get a prize!!!! *optimistic*

I saw the Japanese exchange students today. ONE OF THE GIRLS' SCHOOL UNIFORMS WAS SERIOUSLY AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF THE KARAKURA HIGH GIRLS' SCHOOL UNIFORM IN BLEACH!!!! But of course the skirt was longer.

Henpai's partnered with a girl student.

The Japanese students sit in on our Japanese class tomorrow. I feel as though I'm going to be very very embarassed. Even Xing Jing has pro-er Japanese than me!! (in my defense, she's been learning longer.)

History quiz was easy. And to think I panicked!! At least I didn't list the South China Sea as a major river like Wen Jun did. I can never tell whether he does those things on purpose.

Chinese class was fine.

I've been watching Strawberry Panic lately. And it's basically practically a parody, with cliches and tropes and supposedly-meaningful plot elements, except that it's actually that bad. But despite the fact that it's pretty much trash anime, I like it~~ ^^

Especially Amane and Tamao. (I prefer the manga, actually, and the manga-Amane and manga-Tamao, but the manga only has 12 chapters or so. I'll see if it's available in Kinokuniya next time.)

Plus I've been reading my Suzumiya Haruhi novel. I got through 15 pages today, mostly in the morning before school. I understand more than half by now, and I can tell what's going on, but there are still whole sentences that just fly by me. I guess I'll get better at it after a while. I still think I'll take a month to finish the whole thing. If I even have the sticking power.

I guess I'll go MSN people for about an hour. And then I'll watch Strawberry Panic for a bit under an hour and a half. And then it'll be 11 and I'll be rushing to get to sleep or else I'll never make it through tomorrow without another Mocha Breeze.

But first, a quiz:

What would you do if

1. There was a maggot in your soup?
Make a large fuss involving pointing it out to Vivi and many other people multiple times, spit out any soup I previously consumed, and leave the bowl on the canteen table.

2. You woke up and only mcdonalds and starbucks exist ?
I wouldn't exist, so I doubt I'd have woken up.

3. Pokemon were real?
Catch myself a Pikachu.

4. You walked around your block naked?
Nobody would know, because I'd have the sense to do it at midnight or thereabouts.

5. The person of your dream was finally yours?
I'd be the happiest person in the world.

6. The world ends in 24 hours?
Skip school, go to Orchard with my best few friends, visit Takashimaya and Kinokuniya and Haru, eat at McDonalds, go on a double-deckered bus to the beach, eat ice cream, row a kayak, accidentally overturn, climb a tree, set off fireworks, go to Wild Wild Wet and sneak in without paying, then check into the best hotel in Singapore with a room for each of us on the penthouse level and congregate in one room for a slumber party at the 11th hour. Then I'd tell people all the stuff I wouldn't want to die without letting them know, then one second before the world's scheduled to end I'd jump out the window. I think the world would end before I hit the ground.

Alternatively, I'd escape on a self-sustaining spaceship with all the people I care about.

7. You could have 3 wishes but you had 10 seconds to say them?
I wish for world peace and happiness and ten more wishes.

8. You could never die?
I'd join the CIA and become a super-spy~~~

9. There was beauty pageants for men?
O____O
Why would I care?

10. Models were short and fat instead of skinny and tall?
....big deal.

11. We celebrated Halloween like a dark Christmas?
Niice. Presents onegaishimaaaaasu~

12. Girls wore boxers and guys wore panties?
The fertility rate would drop. Don't you think?

13. Santa, the easter bunny, and the toothfairy really exist?
I'd be happy~~

14. Music could give you cancer?
I'd listen to it anyway. (I is addicted, I is.)

15. Your parents arranged who you had to marry?
Oh nononononono. I is running away from home, then. ><

16. You could star as a character in your favorite cartoon?
I'd be hated unanimously by all the fans. But it'd be nice to be a shinigami in Bleach or a hard-up gangster in Reborn or a Suzumiya Haruhi character or even a girl in Strawberry Panic!

17. You got to try out on American Idol?
No thanks~

18. Your parents were spies, superheros, or somethin cool when you are not home?
O____O
I prefer them the way they are.

19. Your life or death depended on any game of your choice?
I'd start an argument with Vivi-chan.

20. You became a parent 1 year from now?
I should hope I'm not that irresponsible.

21. There was a breakfast cereal named after you?
Can it have marshmallows?

22. You could talk to inanimate objects?
I would make friends with the school walls and get them to tell me all about all the secrets and scandalous things going on!! (If there are any at all. ^^;;;;)

23. There was 10 more 'What If' questions included this as one of them?
I'm not so patient as to finish them all, you know.

24. You were the only person in the world to have unlimited gas for your car?
Marvel at the fact that, at 13-years-11-months-3-weeks, I have a car.

25. You woke up as your opposite gender?
This opens up a whole new world of opportunities. ^________________^

26. With the snap of your fingers, any problem you would have could disappear?
Spend the rest of my life locked up in a mental facility with severe depression because I can't snap my fingers.

27. It was against the law to eat more than one meal a day?
Eat just a meal a day, then. I don't really care.

Friday, 17 July 2009.

Mr Cheong still hasn't given me back my book. Instead, he says he's reading it. READING it. *dead*

I'm annoyed today, I guess. If anyone's actually reading this, let me give you some advice: if you tell someone else to look for something of yours when you leave the classroom to see if you've dropped said thing, do NOT look askance or act exasperated when they need to copy the Chinese notes you've copied from the other person next to you because they were too busy looking for your damn tutorial to take down what's on the screen. *rants*

Why do I even bother, anyway? (the worst bit is, I don't actually know.)

So anyway. What's the appropriate social procedure if someone seems to be repeatedly, obliquely implying something very alarming that one hopes couldn't be true and can't possibly ask without coming across as an insane paranoid person with no respect for privacy?

*is socially clueless every once in a while*

I didn't see Vivi-chan much today. I don't think we have any breaks in common Friday, which sucks, but I can see her most of the rest of the week anyway. Yesterday she poked a piece of pencil lead into her finger by accident or something and needed to go to a clinic to get it out.

I'm going to remember that for the next time I feel like pawning class.

I'm still emoing about that solar car every once in a while, too. Just a little more time, and I swear I'd have built a functioning model.
I almost want to devote my weekend to that, but she's already marked my group, so yeah....

English is getting more and more boring. Trigonometry is still fairly easy. I'll bet it gets harder though. History quiz was postponed, which is just as well because all those dates gave me one heck of a headache.

I guess, along with bees, wasps, hornets and Chinese exams and obsessive-compulsive people, there's something about being put on the spot that really puts me on edge. You know, just because I'm sick of being the unacknowledged subordinate/sidekick/backup, that doesn't mean I'm a turncoat traitor either.

On the other hand, just because I'm not planning to become one, I'm not saying that the idea doesn't hold a certain appeal.

I was planning to write about secrets next- my secrets, other peoples' secrets, how there doesn't seem to be anyone I fully trust because nobody knows all the secrets I know...that's actually alarming, that last point- but I really can't muster the mental energy to obfuscate all the real-life points I want to refer to.

*fails*

Anyway, I don't think anyone wants to read about secrets unless I'm telling some big enormous actually-relevant secret straight out to all my readers, and that'd be a betrayal of confidence, and that's bad!

Also, I feel bad about bullying Mr Cheong. He's a pwnsome mentor, it's just that so very often he leaves himself wide open for a witty comment and nobody else takes advantage, and it's certainly great making people laugh, but although I can say nasty things about him to his face without batting an eye, it's the nice things- 'Sorry, Mr Cheong.' 'I didn't mean that, Mr Cheong.' 'You're a pwnsome mentor'- that it'd just be retarded to say straight out to anybody.

Mr Cheong: If you're going to draw, you have to draw a picture of me!
Me: I think you'd think it was very ugly.
Mr Cheong: I have faith in you!
Me: I'm not saying it wouldn't be accurate.

*feels bad*

On the bright side, at least I have a nice mentor.

There are certain teachers to whom I'd love to have a chance to insult to their faces though. Like Vivi-tan's mentor. ^_____________________^
(Did I just violate some rule or other? xDD)

{ 5:10 pm }

Wednesday, 15 July 2009.

Today wasn't too bad.

I got drenched, though, walking ten minutes in pouring rain from the bus stop to school. Plus it wouldn't even have taken ten minutes if it hadn't been pouring rain.

Then Claire saw Vivi and I speaking with Yoru-senpai and told us in Japanese not to talk to him already because it's dangerous. I don't think it's as dangerous as she says, but who cares.

Some of my papers got wet and tore. Most of them didn't. Then in mentoring Mr Cheong took away my volume of Suzumiya Haruhi and he won't give it back for a week, and I'm not allowed to draw at all or read manga in that week. >>
He can't stop me.

Although I'm annoyed because I bought it in English which is twice the cost. He could have taken something in Chinese instead. Plus I do wonder whether he's going to read it. xDDDDD

I WAS READING IT, YEAH, BUT HE WASN'T EVEN SAYING ANYTHING TO THE CLASS, SO WHY NOT?!?!?! IF HE'S JUST GOING TO SIT THERE DOING NOTHING, IT DOESN'T MEAN EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO SIT THERE DOING NOTHING!!!

*rant over*

Break was okay. Russell and Vivi and I followed Yoru-senpai around randomly and then he followed us around randomly and then we all went to what Vivi-chan calls the 'carbon nanotube'.

Then later during temperature taking I went to get lunch and I saw Claire's cat ear in the rubbish bin and wondered why she'd dumped it there, but then later it turned out she'd lost it- it probably fell off into there or something- so Vivi-chan and I got it out and washed the pin part and wiped the cloth part.

Literature was phail. I wrote a stupid play on a whim in a hurry and I hope Clara edits it well before tomorrow.

As for Math, we had Trig for an hour, but then Mr Cheong gave us the next hour free because we all pretty much understood the two hours' worth of lessons.

And now I have to do homework.
Yay.

Tuesday, 14 July 2009.

Sorry for not updating in so long!!

It's just that my dad was in town making sure I was working on my solar car project, and well, I had to work on my solar car project.

COSFEST WAS COMPLETELY PWNSOME. I think the cosplayers were the best bit. They had two whole Hetalia cosplay groups. The Canada was UTTERLY PWNSOME and probably the best cosplayer in the whole place, but WAY. TOO. SHORT. Even wearing those shoes with super-thick soles she was shorter than me. Probably because, as I told Henpai, you need a girl to cosplay any bishonen well, to which he responded that the average Japanese bishonen is basically a female who just happens to be male. *coughyurilowellcough*

So yeah, the Hetalia group's Denmark was also pretty good, but I couldn't recognise her (DAMMIT HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE MALE TOO!!) as Denmark for a while, because of being such a new character. The Lithuania was utter fail. The Poland was kinda cute. The Russia was awesome, but way too short, and although a short Canada is somewhat excusable, a short Russia is NOT. Most of the others were kinda fail.

For Bleach, they had a half-decent Rukia, a barely recognisable Uryuu and a FAIL Byakuya. Byakuya cosplayers are always fail. There was also a Yachiru. Somewhat too tall, but cute.

Naruto had a Naruko prancing around in pigtails, a too-tall Sakura, a couple Sasukes in various degrees of fail/not-quite-fail, a PWNSOME Kakashi, an ownage Shino with swimming goggles instead of sunglasses, a whole Akatsuki group....O____O

There was Code Geass AND THE KALLEN WAS TOO FAT!! DX

KHR was mostly not that good. Some were FAIL, some were decent, and the Gokudera was female, very bishonen and WAY TOO SHORT. No really. I mean, TINY.

Suzumiya Haruhi had a Haruhi with lemon-yellow ribbons, two good Nagatos and a Mikuru who was only half cosplaying Mikuru and didn't even have the right hair colour.

Heck, there was even a Pikachu cosplayer in a Pikachu costume. xDDDDD

SO I met Shasha and Ri-chan there
(Ri-chan: YOU'RE SO MUCH MORE HARDCORE THAN ME!!
Shasha: ...you're hardcore?
Ri-chan: *annoyed*)
and we wandered round in this big tent for a while and then went so they could buy lunch and then went back and found Joey, I think, and then I bought a lot of stuff. One Hetalia fan with Italy on it, one Hetalia poster, one Hetalia badge, one Suzumiya Haruhi T-shirt, one Hetalia keychain, and a strip of Code Geass temporary tattoos which are SUPERCUTE.
Ri-chan bought scrap DGM fanart for 10 cents each. The Kanda looked like Yuuko from XXXHolic much more than he (she?) looked like Kanda Yuu.
Yuu. Yuuko. O_______O
Shasha got Hetalia doujin. <333333333333

I didn't get anything for Shasha or Joey or Leyi there, even though they have consecutive birthdays. *dead*
I WILL GET YOU PEOPLE SOMETHING EVENTUALLY, I SWEAR. I wish I drew well enough to just be able to draw people birthday presents.

ANYWAY. MY birthday is on the 27th of July, I am going to be 14, and nobody is allowed to forget that!!! xDDD

Yoru-senpai says that his class has a rumor that Claire dumped him for Maisuke-senpai. O__O
His class has weird rumors.

Solar cars today were fail though. I managed to get mine to run about a quarter of the track, and I SWEAR it was still going, but the teacher was sick of waiting for it to start up again and basically told us she'd give us the marks we'd get if we'd completed half the track, so would we let her go on to another group now?
^^;;;;;

Much better than nothing.

Japanese class was not fun either. They changed the seating arrangement so I'm not sitting with Vivi-chan so I'm not partnering Vivi-chan but Gabriel S-(how do you spell it?!?) and he gets annoyed with me very easily and then writes stupid stuff. Not that he's stupid--even I don't write that much Kanji all the time!!!
Plus I got my books in a hurry and instead of bringing the English translation with notes I brought my same-coloured HCl textbook. *dead*

Also in Chem class Adrian spilled iodine on Clarice's shirt, which was epic phail.

Just before I left school, I wrapped up Vivi's Mokona plushie in bubblewrap, stapled the bubblewrap shut, and left it inside her school shirt. I wonder how she reacted to THAT. xDDD

(She was wearing her PE shirt at the time. She wasn't around. xDDD)

Vivian and I found graffiti on the white board-things they use to cordon off construction areas. It basically said: SLs: Student Leaders or Slave Labour?
It is unusual to find graffiti with a purpose--most of the things one finds are names scrawled into desks, that sort of thing...
While we were staring at it, a construction worker came over and spray-painted it over in white. It's a good thing the vandalists-(is that a word?) used paint and not indelible marker. I've heard marker doesn't spray-paint well.

Vivi took a photo, but I don't have it with me.

Whoot. Chem homework time. Sean owes me answers, but somehow I have very little faith in a person who can only do better than me in Math and Chinese. >>

I still haven't forgotten the time he copied my work and got ten marks less than I did. Idiot.

Going to the Cosfest tomorrow after all, but a lot of solar car work to get done before that. ^^;;;;
And I can't cosplay anyone after all, like I said.

AND I NEED TO BUY CHOCOBANANA POCKY FOR AWA.
Don't worry. I'm sure it'll be very nice.

Also, Awa, why so hung up on religion all of a sudden? Of all the things to emo about....
If you don't want to be religious, you don't have to. It's a personal thing. You also don't need to emo because everyone else is religious. You aren't missing much, let me assure you.

I was an atheist myself in P5. Then Onion-san's ex-classmate Sean converted me when we were in Indonesia for a competition, because there was this show that wouldn't start on time and we were bored. He argued with me for two hours straight on the existence of God and the meaning of the universe, and in the end I still thought he was being stupid, but I decided that if religion was important enough to make anybody argue with me for two hours, it was worth a second shot.

But heck, if you don't think so, that's as good a choice as any. There's certainly a lot less hypocrisy in atheism.

And there's something important that I was told yesterday.
That I would have grown up anyway.
It sounds stupid, right?
But I've been spending a long time feeling emo, because I'm hardly the exact same person as I was before I was injured. I'm less hyper, less dynamic, less of a random idiot...more emo, too...
It's easy to blame all that on some dumbass waving a pole around, right?
But I would have grown up anyway.
Did I really think that if I hadn't been injured, I would have grown up to be a 30-year-old nutcase wearing Harry Potter clothes and raving about the conspiracy theories behind bak kua?
No matter if I'd never been injured in my life, I'd have changed. I'd have grown up. I have grown up.
I haven't really lost anything.

Thanks for helping me realise that, Yoru-senpai. ^^

Although I still believe that Stall 3 was planning to take over the world with bak kua. xDDD

An online diary is kind of fail.

For instance, if there's anything I'd tell pretty much anyone, sure, I write it up here, but what's the big deal? Might as well tell someone. Things I've only told three or four people (I don't think I have any complete, unknown-to-the-world secrets) wouldn't go up here, but isn't that the first thing one writes in a diary? I could lock this, but then what's the point of having it online?

I suppose the thing is, a blog isn't really a diary at all. I can say that I'm torn because my two friends are at loggerheads after their break-up; I can say that I'm worried because I really like someone and I don't know what to do about it; I can say that I'm confused and upset for what is often the stupidest of reasons; I can say that I'm annoyed by being seen more as a subordinate than a friend; but what I can't give is the details, and isn't that the whole point?

Aaaargh. I need more people I can pointlessly emo at. And trust, trust is important.

I have this vague feeling that Literature class is going to pwn. I always get good grades in that, which is why it surprises me so much when even Claire says she doesn't want to remember her Lit grade. I guess (I HOPE) there are always going to be some things that I stay better at, no matter how many Year 3 modules she talks her way into.

....I wish I could accelerate in Literature or something.

Today was Solar Car day.

Met up with Leyi and Shankari and Pin Lin at school and took the MRT to Woodlands, where we went to Causeway Point and looked around for useful stuff until Keshiniy met us. Her mom wouldn't let her go meet us in school because she lives in Woodlands anyway.

At school, the part of the classroom near the back door is covered with bits of concrete and brick and dust. They punched a hole in the wall way high up near the door there. It opens into the next classroom.

I hope they clear it up before classes start.

We redesigned the solar car at Leyi's place. (the condominium where she lives has an awesome pool.)

We built it with corrugated plastic and stuff and gears out of correction tape, and it's incredibly improved. xDDDD there were prawns at lunch and of course everyone made all sorts of jokes about them. Especially since Cash insisted they were looking at her.

Cash: That prawn is watching me!
Me: ...why are you watching prawns anyway?

Leyi's brother is kind of cute and rather hyper. He's six and a lot more mature than my own six-year-old sibling, by the looks of it.

We got started on the report. Which is to say, THEY did, and I'm cheem-ifying it. xDDD
I'll try to write a page or so for each question. Right now I'm stuck looking up the principles of solar energy. What ARE the principles of solar energy?

...never mind....

*dead*

So it rained and we couldn't test the solar car yet but I think it's working.

Also I learned to use one of those two-wheeled wiggly skateboards!! xDDDDDDD it took about ten minutes and I was still fail but not so fail anymore. Now I know what I want for my birthday!! xDD joking~~

I've given up all hope of cosplaying Hetalia or actually ANYTHING for the upcoming cosfest. EOY is another story though.
I wonder when my mom'll let me dye my hair temporarily orange for these things, if everrr. There are so many more orange-haired characters in most mangas, especially when compared to brown-haired ones. But not in Hetalia though.

{ 9:44 pm }

Somebody see if you can get me a tombstone that says 'People die when they are killed'.

xDD

My 'genius at work' sign is left to Pin Lin.

If I should have left you something and didn't, I'm sorry.
Ri-chan can organise a private memorial service or something, and whoever wants can go. Don't forget to play hyper music.

Oh look, I took a personality test.
I'll highlight the relevant bits.

You seem to be trying to sweep aside the situations (and maybe the people) that you feel are standing in your way. You are impulsive and apt to follow these impulses seeking to be involved in special or exciting happenings. In this way you hope to deaden the intensity of your conflicts, but your impulsive behaviour is leading you to take some unnecessary risks. Back down a little and remember 'more haste - less speed'.
You want what you want and you need all that you want and, as they say in the movies, you are the sort of individual that 'By hook or by crook' you will, by fair means or foul, endeavour to get what you are looking for.
It's the time of year that you are apt to become extremely restless and emotionally withdrawn. This is preventing you from becoming deeply involved with a person or persons within your sphere of influence. If you are willing to 'let go' and release your inhibitions you will find that a great deal of physical satisfaction will result, far more than perhaps you even believed you were capable of.
Recent disappointment has led you to become truly introverted. You are becoming suspicious of everybody and consequently you now feel that you are unable to trust anybody. Unfortunately it would appear that you are curbing your natural enthusiasm and imaginative nature - perhaps this is because you are fearful that you may become over enthused and find that you could possibly be carried away by wishful thinking. You are keeping your distance to see whether attitudes towards you are sincere - but this watchfulness could easily develop into suspicion and distrust.
You really would like to be completely uninhibited - to let your hair down - but you are held back by your sense of logic and rationalilty, since you realise that by simple stupidity you could lose everything - whatever that may be.

More than I thought....o___O
I guess these things are really generic though.

And , back to my will~~thank you to everyone who ever helped me.
If I want to thank specific people, I guess I'll get around to thanking them personally, eventually.

Saturday, 4 July 2009.

Today was 4th of July, aka US Independence Day.
My mom didn't realise it til the 3rd. xDDD

So I invited Vivi and Ri-chan and only Ri-chan made it.

We had cheesecake!

My mom told us ghost stories until half an hour after Ri-chan should have left, so we took her home in a taxi. She now thinks my mom is the most awesome person on the planet. I'm now wondering when I got demoted.

....it's late.
