Boo.

Just got back from the physiotherapists.
D=

There really isn't much to write about at all; I haven't even been drawing for the past few days. DDDDD=

I have to work on my creative writing seminar stuff
like editing my poems because Mr Valles says there are too many cliches
Although there are not really that many cliches.
Just established poetic imagery.
That doesn't make it cliched!! D=

I wonder why the English language still bothers having accents on words like 'cliche' and 'naive' when in this world of information technology nobody bothers with them.

At least, they don't really anymore, but in the dictionary you still get those thingys on them.
The one with two dots is called an umlaut, right?

...zzzzz.

I wonder if the Creative Arts Program people have a sense of humour.

{ 4:34 pm }

Monday, 25 January 2010.

I am extremely bored.
And extremely sleepy.
In a sort of uncomfortable manner.

DDDDD= I wish I were better.

and not melting into a puddle of sleepy goo

*dies*

All I can really say is, thank God for the Internet.
I'm fairly sure I'd have died without it.
(like when I had the swine flu and NO COMPUTER D=)

If I were going to school, perhaps I'd have something to post.
As it is....I don't.
Sorry.

Perfect by nature
Icons of self indulgence
Just what we all need
More lies about a world that

Never was and never will be
Have you no shame? Don't you see me?
You know you've got everybody fooled

Look here she comes now
Bow down and stare in wonder
Oh how we love you
No flaws when you're pretending
But now I know she

Never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

Without the mask, where will you hide?
Can't find yourself lost in your lie

I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore

It never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

It never was and never will be
You're not real and you can't save me
Somehow now you're everybody's fool

I am still recovering.

D=

Went to see the doctor today.

Now I have a 2-week MC that I don't necessarily have to use all of.

The jury's still out on when I can go back to school.

Also I'm having dizziness attacks and all that crap.

At any rate this is not a medical journal or a place to complain.

At least hopefully not.

So allow me to write about...staying at home.

I've moved into my mother's bedroom so I don't have to climb the extra flight of stairs.

According to the doctor my inner ear disorder has been aggravated by the blow to the head.

(thanks a lot, Claire. D=)

So now I'm sitting on a bed typing on my computer and eating chocolate that someone brought back for me.

On a brighter note, it is very good chocolate.

White with strawberries.

I've been drawing a lot.

Can't go to school, can't leave the house unless it's to see a doctor, can't even walk around much...D=

What else is there to do?

So yeah.

The second one is not meant to look wrong.
(I signed it with my Chinese name because someone said it looked pretty. Now I think it looks stupid.)
But Christabella and Awa think it looks les.
I was just trying to draw people in more poses!!
DX
I feel almost manic-depressive.
Must be the sugar.

{ 9:58 pm }

Monday, 18 January 2010.

I just finished my Chinese suibi!!
=D

I feel so proud of myself.
It wasn't even troublesome.

*happies*

I didn't get to go have icecream with Ji and Xing Jing.

Gah.

The aircon is too cold.
If I turn it off it's too stuffy.
If I open the window the mosquitoes come in.
And the fan is spoilt.

I think I'll wear a jacket.
><

I just got an SMS from Russell telling me to do the chibis.
That means bye for now.
=D

{ 7:54 pm }

Sunday, 17 January 2010.

Hihi again.

Today I'm going to the botanic gardens to pick leaves off the ground.
^^;;;;;;;;;;;;

I should probably be working on the creative arts program application.

Or my newspaper journal
or my last math problem

or anything really

but instead I'm going to blog quickly and go back to sleep.

It's 8:34 am, not whatever my blog says it is, because I think the timestamps are screwed. I doubt I've posted anything at 1am for months.

I should also work on the air jellyfish thingy
but at the moment I can't be bothered.

It needs a new skin with a tagboard.

D=

{ 8:30 am }

Friday, 15 January 2010.

Postinggggg

Isn't it annoying when people make blanket statements arbitrarily and you can never tell if they're including you?

Blah.

My tagboard is abandoned.
Poor tagboard.

(speaking of which, if anyone from my class actually comes here--which I doubt-- please tag!!!!)

Today was CCA fair.
For some reason instead of CCA-Fair-ing I ended up running 10x200m.
D=
and the scouts were barbecuing which presents 2 main difficulties.
1) SMOKE. D<
2) Apart from the smoke, it ended up smelling damn good and made me hungry. ><

Why is the track always spammed with people on days like this when they should be busy clogging up the concourse + hall like everyone else?

I hope my astro application gets through.

Today I got to Physics class just within the 5-minute margin. I was pleased with myself (apart from screwing it up by saying GoodmorningMrTan at 3:05 pm) until someone turned up 10 minutes late and he barely batted an eye.
Dammit.

I'm going to go fill in my class blog questionnaire.
=D

{ 8:04 pm }

Wednesday, 13 January 2010.

And, because I don't want to create the impression on all my new classmates that my blog is essentially a boring place where I bitch about everything, a new post for the evening.

Whee.

Class notice board is in progress, although I'm not quite sure where we're going to have room to post notices by the time it's done.
=]

Today we had ACE, which mostly went towards voting on various things and deciding class stuff.
Also English, which was more arguments.
Chinese was okay. He talks a lot.
Math. Logarithms aren't too bad.

Was there anything else?

0___0

*cannot remember*

I seem to have misplaced my timetable already.

Also there was a da Vinci briefing and then much sitting around chatting with Candice and Ji Hyun with Yoru-senpai wandering around and then there was CWC which both Vivian and Russell didn't turn up for.

Oh noes.

I bought Nerds today. They were okay, in a sort of sugar-overdose way.
I ate half and gave the rest to Russell because nobody wanted any.

So anyway, the class blog is up and voting for the new URL is in progress.

And before I leave, a plug for the Air Jellyfish site I've created with Xing Jing--- go to www.air-jellyfish-sightings.blogspot.com!!!

{ 8:00 pm }

HI ALLLLLL

I am annoyed
because Ms Lau's plan for the year involves journals that we have to write about articles in the paper and we are expected-slash-required to make a vocabulary list of words we don't understand in the article.

I may have misspelled 'interfere' today on the CCA transfer form because I was in a hurry, but please, I don't think there will be any-- and certainly not five!!-- words in any newspaper article that I don't fully understand.

I'll concede an occasional one or two,

but five?

Seriously??

I think Ms Lau has a disappointingly low idea of our English standard.

Unless of course you're talking about words like 'holistic' and 'synergy' that get thrown around all the time but don't really mean anything.

Also I'm annoyed at the school system.

Order is all well and good, but I'm not a great fan of those who demand respect without earning it.
Seriously.
What sort of totalitarian regime is it when unquestioning, unwavering, complete and unconditional respect, obedience and loyalty is demanded by those in charge, even before they've shown the first sign of proving themselves worthy of it? Of course, teachers are teachers and I hardly intend to contect that point, but students are intelligent human beings too.
Right, so we aren't here to challenge the teachers. We aren't allowed to challenge the teachers.
Even if we're right?
Even if they're wrong?
Even if we have a valid point?
Even if their arguments are the sort that they themselves would give us low grades for, were we to be the ones behind them?
No, even if we have complete and worthwhile arguments, the teachers will just restate their own reasons without taking into account anything we just said, then look at us as though we're blockheads when we don't take that as an answer.
If they don't get pissed at us first for withholding the unconditional deference they feel entitled to.
(of course, not all the teachers--school wouldn't be worth getting up in the morning if that were so!-- but at least that's my impression of this term so far)

Lol now I'm wondering if I'm flaunting the guidelines by posting my opinion.
Depends.
Are we allowed to have opinions?
Are we allowed to mention them to our classmates?
What about our non-NUSH friends?
What about posting them online where the whole world can access them in the unlikely case that it might stumble across them?
What about mass-emailing them to all the students?
What about stating them to the DM's face?

Where do they draw the line?

Don't worry. I'm not planning on finding out.

=D

{ 7:44 pm }

Tuesday, 12 January 2010.

Not paying attention + attempting to be reasonably cordial = epic screw-up?

^^;;;;

Ignore my last post.

I mean, why sit through the sleep-deprived ramblings of a maniac?

=]

blahhhhh

I want to make more friends in my class!!!
=]
=]
=]
=]
finally a nice smiley that doesn't involve reaching for the SHIFT key.

I forgot to talk about the microwaved tangyuan.
=]
it had been all boiled and stuff
but no soup
just the tangyuannish round thing
and it dried up because it was sitting in the fridge
with nobody eating it
and it was super hard and cold and disgusting
and I was hungry
so I microwaved it to heat it up
and then it expanded like siao
and the top came off one of them
and there was all this partially-caramelised black sesame stuff
and they had a texture like a cross between mochi and rice crackers.
They were actually kind of nice,
in a WTF sort of way.
=]

Julia said she lost her phone.
I hope she found it.

We had hair and attire check today.
Ms Lau sent like all the boys who didn't cut their hair when she told them to to go see Mr Lim
(lol wth i typed Ms Lim)
but then he sent most of them back.
Like Russell who had approximately 2 hairs touching his ear.

Also Chen Yue cut the hair around his ears with an electric shaver in an attempt to be subversive by not cutting his hair properly like Ms Lau told him to, or something like that, but it failed because she just thought it was very diligent of him.

Ms Lau is a nice teacher, but I can't figure out what to make of her.
It's hard to present one's opinion to her, because she seems to just hold on to whatever idea she started with....but maybe I'm just too used to Christine Lam, who is on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to listening to everyone's opinion.

^^;;;

I still think that a teacher teaching expository-slash-argumentative-ish-essays should be more open to a well-thought-through argument or three.
...I'm not used to not being able to debate something with my English teacher when I want to.
I bet if Ms Lau made a grammar mistake and I pointed it out, she wouldn't listen to me for a second.
But then again she doesn't come across as the kind of English teacher who would make grammar mistakes.

Blah.

What was I talking about today?

Japanese was in one of the new classrooms.
We have a year 1.
And chiisai-gaburieru-san left us.
D=

Oh well.

I think I have math homework.

{ 6:33 pm }

Monday, 11 January 2010.

You know how it is when you read something and your life gets pulled out from under you and you're falling like the drop on a roller coaster?

..I'm not sure if I do.

I don't usually post twice in a day, as the people who nag me to post can tell you, but i just felt like...rambling?

As in, I'm confused, it's entirely irrelevant to anything important, and it makes no difference in the long run, not to mention I'll probably land in the same place for the infinite time, plus there might be so many i-told-you-sos and this-is-good-keep-it-ups which are even worse when I know it shouldn't be a good thing...
wait, what?
I'm confused.

What difference does it make anyway? One, two, three, five, ten, zero-out-of-seven...
=D

I like writing obscure things!!!

I'm just worried that something I'd taken some time to accept seems to be in...remission? Is that the right word?
Perhaps I'm overreacting?
I've thought these things before.
If you know what I'm talking about, don't say anything.
Life is just a quest to find the self or something anyway, isn't it?
I just haven't figured out which parts to hold onto.
And if I shouldn't.
I probably shouldn't.
It just feels weird.
It's just chance, I think, now that I've had time not to panic.
Why panic if it's a good thing?
That's a question for some other time.
My head hurts.

><

Shuffling is a headache.

How long until I land where I started?

{ 9:22 pm }

today was....
average.

=D

Camellia Lee wasn't there, so there was no PE
*happy*

so I quickly went off and bought a book for Chinese journal writing and wrote something.
Then there was much playing of cards
and math
and playing cards
and eating
and playing cards
and chinese
and playing cards

=DDDDD

perhaps I exaggerate, but it's not hard to tell where many Year 3s' priorities lie.

Lessons weren't particularly exceptional. Kuo Xuan and Nikki are our new mentor reps. I miss the good old days when we got to elect them, but apart from the idealogical and political issues with losing my individual say in the organisation of class events....I don't have any problem with it at all. xD

Math was math-ish. Nothing new.

Chinese involved sitting there for an hour while he talked about O-levels.
At least he's more interesting than Silicone Woman.
Although I'd still rather Ms Mak was still teaching us.
*shrugs*

Track was slack-ish.
Xing Jing and I wandered off at the beginning with Amanda to see her friend audition for Choir.
But then we ended up back at Track running and doing drills and discussing air jellyfish and stuff like that.
I'm supposed to bring a thumb drive tomorrow.
I can't find one.

Russell spent a long time telling everyone there was porn on my playing cards.
There is not porn on my playing cards.
Sheeesh.

{ 8:57 pm }

Sunday, 10 January 2010.

Hihihi.
The last post was the 104th post.
And I didn't even notice.

Although given that I haven't been in 104 for over a year now...

Oh welllll.

I am busy doing class worksheets for math because Christabella's mom wouldn't let her watch a movie with me.
We are going to go next weekend.
I hope.

School has been very exhausting and un-fun.
And not even exhausting in a worthwhile way, just blah-i-am-bored-stop-taking-so-long-to-explain-something-so-simple-i-am-going-to-doodle-on-my-notes-and-fall-asleep-WAITCRAPWHYAREYOUASKINGMETHISQUESTIONIHAVENTBEENPAYINGATTENTIONFORTHEPASTHALFHOUR
sort of thing.

But Lit was nice.
English too, although not much happened and we aren't going to be doing creative stuff anymore.
Math was okay. Although I can't speak for all the new students yet, An seems supersuperpro at math and physics and all. At least she knows more about what's going on than I do.
><

I will Work Hard and Improve!!

...right.

The Chinese teacher spent the first half of the lesson explaining how we need to be able to write his name.

{ 12:14 pm }

Thursday, 7 January 2010.

It's been a long time since I posted anything.

Anyway Orientation was okay.
We have several foreign students in 309.
Although it is most likely vaguely impolite to call them 'foreigners'.
I didn't do that; Ms Lau did.
But she seems to be a nice enough teacher anyways.

^_____^

The Mass Dance was amusing because Russell and Leyi and Vivi and I ended up in some sort of 4-person inter-house dance group.

And there isn't that much else to talk about, really; just lots of wearing of tshirts and icebreaking games and cheering practice and almost falling asleep and what-have-you.

Today I went to McDonalds for breakfast with Vivi and Russell.
Because school started 2 hours late.
We were going to go bother Henpai tomorrow
but I will have CCA already.
D=

I got Ri-chan a bobble-head monkey toy from McDonalds.
Remind me to pass it to her sister.
Who is in 105.

Russell and I are currently running the campaign to have a plastic McDonalds transformer toy elected class mascot.

=DDDDDDD

I am Optimistic about our Future as a Class.

Yay.
