i am desperately doing my best to resist the pull of fandom. because, you know, i am supposed to be in possession of
a) the tiny little thing known as a social life
and b) the considerably more major thing known as an academic life.
...okay, okay, you got me; I have no life.
that doesn't change the fact, though, that writing or reading trite and clichéd fiction based on a third party's preexisting characters is completely and utterly unproductive. ONE MUST ATTEMPT TO BE PRODUCTIVE. PRODUCTIVITY IS TO BE PURSUED AT ALL COSTS.
this morning i woke up to excruciating pain in my neck and it kind of got worse from there.
i found i couldn't look straight ahead, right, or very far left, forcing me to lie in bed with my head at this bizarre half-past-ten angle waiting for someone to wake up and come collect me so I could get breakfast, painkillers and a hotpack and explain how i couldn't actually sit up because that, too, made the right inside of my neck feel like a red-hot piece of taut frayed elastic.
UNFUN.
so i managed to prop myself up on this triangular blue backrest pillow we just happened to have lying around. (i love you, triangular blue backrest pillow.) so, my now-somewhat-more-vertical self proceeded to take advantage of the opportunity to eat cornflakes without having to defy the laws of gravity more than strictly necessary. (i love you, whoever it was actually took time off to bring immobilized-Edith cornflakes. i can't remember, having been very nearly asleep.)
and so i couldn't go to school.
=(
and so i couldn't bring Katie her chocolate stash and we couldn't chocolate-feast. and i missed math class!
i actually rather dislike missing math class.
katie and i exchanged a few emails, which was a much-needed diversion, and i did my Physics and History homework, and- i'll admit- wasted amounts of time on the Internet.
for which i feel kind of guilty, given that there wasn't anything wrong with my head or general intellectual function preventing me from being in school and doing Productive Things instead; even a cold or severe sleep deprivation would have made me feel a bit better about today. but Spontaneous Neck Muscle Failure? talk about random fail injuries.
gah.
